STEWART, Tenn. - April 28, 2026 – Boaters on the Kentucky Lake, bordering Kentucky and Tennessee, now have round-the-clock on-water assistance with the opening of TowBoatUS Danville.

Owned and operated by lifelong boater Capt. Bob McMackins, the port provides on-water towing, fuel delivery, soft ungroundings, and jump-starts to help boaters get home safely.

“As boating demand continues to grow in the area, opening TowBoatUS Danville was a natural next step,” said McMackins. “Expanding our footprint means faster response times and reliable assistance for boaters who rely on us when their day on the water doesn’t go as planned.”

TowBoatUS Danville will operate two 19-foot red response vessels, Angler Bay and NauticStar center-consoles homeported at Cane Creek Marina and Campground. The vessels will be operated by a team of four U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captains. With the opening of this new port, the team will be able to cut response times along the Kentucky Lake in half.

Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) offers on-water towing memberships for $130/year for freshwater. In addition to a BoatUS Towing Membership, members also receive more than 25 valuable BoatUS benefits including a subscription to award-winning BoatUS Magazine, free DSC-VHF radio registration and more.

To request on-water assistance, boaters can call the BoatUS toll-free 24/7 Dispatch Center at 800-391-4869, download the free BoatUS App, which connects boaters to the closest local towing captain, call TowBoatUS Danville directly at 931-721-3483 or hail on VHF radio Ch.16.
