ROGERS, Ark., Aug. 17, 2023 – Boaters will no longer struggle to get the help they need on northwestern Arkansas’ Beaver Lake after an on-water breakdown or other routine trouble with the opening of TowBoatUS Beaver Lake, a 24/7 on-water assistance service for recreational boaters. The company is part of a nationwide fleet, much like an auto club for boat owners, that responds when vessels break down, need a battery jump, run aground or are out of fuel, or need a tow back to a marina or boat ramp.

The location is the second for owner Capt. Michael Fitzpatrick, who opened nearby TowBoatUS Table Rock Lake in 2018 with four towboats responding to the needs of boaters. As time went by, “We would get calls from boaters on Beaver Lake requesting assistance, and rather than trailer one of our towboats over from Table Rock, we wanted to shorten response times and have a full-time presence on the lake,” said Fitzpatrick.

TowBoatUS Beaver Lake now home ports a 25-foot red response vessel, a former U.S. Coast Guard SAFE boat, stationed at Prairie Creek Marina. The location is managed by lead captain Brooks Montgomery. “Brooks’ desire to become a towboat captain came from watching our boats come in and out at our Table Rock location,” said Fitzpatrick. “He’s just the guy you want — capable, professional and eager to help — when you’ve got on-water trouble.” Striking a submerged object, such as a deadhead or tree beneath the surface of the man-made lake, is a fairly common occurrence to request assistance. Nationwide, TowBoatUS handles more than 90,000 requests a year from boaters.

Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) offers annual on-water Unlimited Towing Memberships for freshwater boaters and anglers for just $99 per year. Included are more than 25 BoatUS benefits and discounts at participating local fuel docks and transient slips at marinas. Separate from BoatUS on-water towing, the company offers boat hauling, salvage and environmental remediation services.
