KERR LAKE / LAKE GASTON, N.C., Oct. 2, 2024 – TowBoatUS on-water towing and assistance for recreational boaters has returned to two waterways spanning the North Carolina–Virginia state line. Capts. Branson and Megan Mosier, owners of TowBoatUS Jordan Lake and TowBoatUS Falls Lake, have reopened TowBoatUS Kerr Lake and TowBoatUS Lake Gaston.

The Mosiers’ four ports are part of a nationwide network of more than 300 TowBoatUS locations and more than 600 red response vessels that provide 24/7 on-water towing, soft ungrounding, battery jump and fuel drop-off services  to recreational boaters.

Branson and Megan, along with local captains, helm the company’s six red TowBoatUS response vessels, which are ready to go day or night. “We opened our first TowBoatUS ports last year, and since then we’ve had BoatUS members on Kerr and Gaston asking for us to return,” said Branson. “We’re excited to have TowBoatUS back on the lakes,” added Megan. The TowBoatUS locations had been closed since 2018.

The Mosiers homeport a red, 21-foot Privateer TowBoatUS response vessel at Steele Creek Marina on Kerr Lake, while a 25-foot Carolina Skiff response boat calls Eaton Ferry Marina home on Lake Gaston.

Much like an auto club for recreational boat owners, Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) offers on-water Unlimited Towing Memberships for freshwater boaters and anglers for just $109 per year. However, the Mosiers are offering a special freshwater pricing of $84 through November 1. “For the price of one dinner out, we’ll give you professional, reliable on-water assistance all year long.” added Branson.

Membership comes with more than 25 valuable BoatUS benefits, as well as a subscription to BoatUS Magazine, free DSC-VHF radio registration and more. Separate from BoatUS on-water towing, the company also offers boat salvage and environmental remediation services.

To request on-water assistance, boaters can call the BoatUS toll-free 24/7 Dispatch Center at 800-391-4869, download the free BoatUS App, which connects boaters to the closest local towing captain, call the ports directly at 252-303-1669, or hail on VHF radio Ch. 16.
