Meet your local boating safety professionals; see U.S. Coast Guard rescue boat display on Saturday, May 17

What’s Happening: To kick off National Safe Boating Week (May 17−23) and remind boaters across the country to brush up on their boating safety skills and prepare for the boating season, local on-water boat towing and assistance company TowBoatUS Falmouth is hosting an event to kick off National Safe Boating Week with local boating safety friends, to include:

  • Flare demonstrations by U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary
  • U.S. Coast Guard Station Woods Hole rescue boat display
  • Falmouth Fire Department fire boat display
  • Boating safety law updates from the Massachusetts Environmental Police. A new law that goes into effect October 31, 2025 will require all boat operators in the Commonwealth to pass a boater safety test and be issued a boater safety certificate.
  • Local Harbormasters attending
  • Life jacket fittings provided by West Marine
  • Food truck fare by Doggz and Hoggs
  • Special membership offers from TowBoatUS Falmouth for new BoatUS memberships and renewing members
