Fenwick has been manufacturing fishing rods since the 1950s. It pioneered some of the first fiberglass rods ever used for fishing, and in 1973 became the first manufacturer to introduce a high-modulus all-graphite fishing rod. In more recent times, they’ve been known for their ever-popular Eagle lineup, which has always delivered a high level of performance at a moderate pricepoint. Now, Fenwick has a new line of Eagle Inshore Spinning rods.

The handle is designed to keep an angler’s hand on the most sensitive parts of the rod.

The Eagle lineup was completely reengineered using a blend of 24- and 30-ton intermediate and high-modulus graphite. The reel seats are designed to deliver enhanced sensitivity as well as feel comfortable by using multiple interlocking materials including cork and composites, so an angler’s hand always has direct contact with the most sensitive parts of the rod.

When we fished for striped bass using the Eagle Inshore medium-light spinning rod, we could feel the difference as the vibration from slight nips and taps at a lure transferred right from the rod into our hands and fingers. We also like the lightning-fast action, a trait that carries through the entire lineup, which made for quick and effective hooksets.

The Eagle Inshore Spinning models are available in 7-foot and 7-foot, 6-inch lengths, in medium-light, medium, and medium-heavy power. Lure weight ratings range from 1/16 ounce through 1.5 ounces, and line ratings go from 6-pound test through 25-pound test. All Eagle Inshore rods are one-piece and have stainless-steel guides with narrow-profile zirconia inserts. Note that Fenwick offers a limited lifetime warranty on Eagle rods.
