Christoper R.'s deserving family with their 1960's O'Day

The Grand Prize winner of the "Show Where You Tow" Trailering Club Photo Contest, Member Richard Strosnider of Castleton,VT gave his prize, an EZ Loader trailer, to someone more in need--his son-in-law. Here's his son-in-law's story behind the generous gift:
I first learned to sail with my wife on our honeymoon in the Bahamas. I was instantly addicted. When I got home, I went about getting a small boat of my own. It was great, but two years later when I learned my wife was pregnant, I realized we were going to need a bigger, family-friendly boat. I found a 1960s O'Day Mariner online for a great deal. As with all boats that are a great deal, it required a lot of work. We got the boat home, and I began restoring it. After some effort, the boat was ready to go. There was one problem: The trailer. It barely qualified. The tires were shot, the axle sagged, and rust had eaten through the frame in a couple of places. My father-in-law helped me, fixing what he could. Still, pulling the boat down the road always felt a bit like playing Russian roulette. I'd cringe, driving over every bump, waiting to hear what all boat owners fear. The trailer proved enough to get the boat to Sunrise Lake, the lake we live near,( about 1 mile away) but I would never trust it to go where I really wanted to take my family, Lake Winnipesaukee. I had written off any attempt to ever take our boat to the big lake. That changed when I got an email from my father-in-law telling me that he had won an EZ Loader x35 Crossover trailer from [you] and was going to give it to us. It's going to be perfect for our boat. I am grateful to BoatU.S. Trailering for having this contest and to my father-in-law for his generous gift. It will be great driving down the road in confidence with our new trailer. My wife and I can't wait to take our two-year-old daughter on the big lake and show her a great time.
Sincerely, Christopher R. - Middleton, NH
