I would like to know the best way to attach the bunks to the trailer: lag screws or bolts and nuts?

GEORGE: I suggest lag screws on bunks that are 2X6 or 2X4 used for pontoons boats or for a cradle trailer. If you have vertical bunks (these run along the side of the boat and are usually measure 3X10, that's where you'll want the thru bolts and nuts. Just be sure to protect the hull with carpeting and use galvanized screws/nuts/bolts.
