Seaworthy Magazine: Thunderstorms -A
Few Members' Accounts
In
many parts of the country, a lazy afternoon of seagoing bliss can,
in the span of a few minutes, give way to hurricane-force winds,
torrential rain, hail, lightning, and even waterspouts. After a
request for stories in the October issue of Seaworthy, dozens of
BoatUS Members sent along accounts of thunderstorms they had encountered
on the water. These accounts made for some good reading and will
be reprinted here.
Thanks to everyone who sent along an account. Your experiences are
a valuable teaching tool for other readers.
