in my opinion....i'd rather have the power then the tiny bit of fuel savings that you may realize.
with that being said....your comparison isn't actually apples to apples. two completely differant sized boats...
the 25 footer with a pair of 4.3's really doesn't seem underpowered to me. seems like a nice set-up
maybe 1 mpg differance between the two boats??????.....and for more prospective, i just swapped a pair of 454 mags(7.4's) into the spot where a pair of 5.7's were. i really don't expect to lose any significant MPG. in fact i have a couple bets going that i may even PICK UP MORE FUEL MILEAGE!....
maybe some others with those particular models will chime in with some real numbers.
