Hello All,

I would just like to say how much I love Thompson boats!  My father had a 1993 1800 Calae which was a tough little boat.  My uncle has a 1989 Daytona 250 which I absolutely love.  I try to convince him everytime I see him to sell the boat to me.  This boat has seen some better days.  The wood that was fiberglassed in which supports the fuel tanks and batteries is rotted, stringers are starting to go, and the wood in the aft cabin is completely rotted.  The sides are faded and nearly impossible to make shine, the canvas is orginal and shrunk since he only uses the cockpit cover not the camper, and the vinyl on the seats is starting to go.  I hope to restore this boat someday and bring her back to the condition she should be in.  I have searched and tired to find information on building processes to learn what I could do to further enhance the quality of the boat when I eventually get it.  The boat used to top out at 38 mph and cruise at 28 mph at 3300 rpms burning about 12 gph, but I doubt that is the case anymore.  Just wanted to add my 2 cents!

Well i have a '91 255 Carrara.  I have had to do a few things such as replace the entire floor, but really do like the boat.

I wish you the best and hope you have success in restoring your boat.

If you need a dog house or jump seats for either side of the motor doghouse, let me know.

hey moondog. welcome aboard! glad to have you.

we did a floor and stringers in an Imperial 19 foot. long after i had done it, i began to run accross better and better info about proper ways to do it.

it's quite a job but do-able.

there are differant options depending on the severity of the problem. there's some stuff called "Rot Dr." and some other stuff called Sea-Cast"(i think.)
