  • BoatU.S., a part of GEICO and the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies, is looking for an Instructional Designer to join our Talent Development Team at our Springfield, VA headquarters.

    The responsibilities will include:
    • Training analysis for all company-wide requests
    • Researching, delivering, and developing trainings and materials
    • Meeting with stakeholders to complete training needs assessments and task analysis
    • Presenting ideas to stakeholders from various departments and soliciting/incorporating feedback to make necessary changes
    • Identifying and creating methods for evaluating effectiveness of training materials and making appropriate changes
  • • Bachelor’s degree
    • 2-4 years experience working in ID and Development
    • 2-4 years experience designing trainings for different levels
    • 2-4 years experience applying ID methodologies (ADDIE, SAM)
    • 2-4 years experience leading and managing projects
    • 2-4 years experience working with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • 2-4 years experience using development tools (LMS, Captivate, Articulate)
    • 2-4 years intermediate trainer analysis experience

    Desired Qualifications:
    • MA in Instructional Design or Educational Technologies
    • ID Certification
    • 2-4 years experience with visual design skills (Dreamweaver, etc.)
    • 2-4 years experience using Cornerstone
