The Oregon Fire Education Association and Marion Polk County Safe
Kids teamed up to promote safe boating on the Willamette River.
They created a Welcome to the Water program that included brochures,
T-shirts and other items to be given out to boaters at local access
points and on the water. |

The Palatine Fire Department in Illinois has been a Life Jacket
Loaner site since 1998. The group received a 2002 Boating Safety
Grant to promote their loaner site. They used funds to advertise
in the newspaper, at local movie theatres (clip above) and to produce
reminder items such as magnets and business cards. |
