ANGLER Insurance Sponsors: "Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!"
There are 16 million lady anglers in the US and you could be one of them!
This unique two-day educational seminar teaches women saltwater fishing
techniques, conservation and safety, all in a fun supportive atmosphere.
BoatUS ANGLER Insurance has signed on again as a major sponsor
for 2008. "Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!" celebrates it's 11th anniversary
and approximately 5,000 graduates! The program is held in conjunction
with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
About 90 - 125 women, of all ages, participate in the seminars; topics
include bluewater fishing, flats fishing, and fly fishing; skills include
knot tying, spin casting, net casting, conservation, gaffing, boat handling
and even backing up a trailer. Founder Betty Bauman, a veteran tournament
angler, was named "Woman of the Year" by the American Sport
Fishing Association.

Scholarships
for the Seminars
A
limited number of scholarships to the seminars has been provided by the
Florida Foundation for Responsible Angling. To apply, single mothers as
well as other women in a low income bracket, ages 21 and up can email
a short paragraph about their situation, why they want to take the course
and contact information, with “scholarship” in the subject line. Requests
will only be accepted via mail and email and must be submitted no later
than two weeks in advance of the seminar. Recipients will receive a registration,
plus party boat fishing on Sunday. They will need to provide transportation.
