I pulled my bearing buddies off my trailer hubs and can see green grease. Is that good or bad? Does grease change color to indicate it needs to be replaced? D. Harrison, Lompoc, CA

GEORGE: You're OK. Green is good. So is red and so is blue. When the grease turns black or becomes a milky color, that's when you need to change it. MIKE: Marine grease is either red or green. You need to change the grease when it appears "milky". This is an indication of water intrusion. You will want to replace bearings and seals if the hub has been contaminated with water.
