The Boat Trailering Guys
I just bought a new truck and now realize it has a 7-wire light connector. My boat trailer has four. Do I have to rewire this mess? T. Kleinest Largo, Florida

MIKE: No, you do not need to rewire your vehicle or your trailer. There are adapters available for just about any vehicle-to-trailer configuration out there. The adapters range in cost from $7-$15. GEORGE: If it's a new truck, you probably have an adapter sitting in the glove compartment (many new vehicles include adapters). Otherwise, you can purchase a four prong "flat" that will adapt to the 7-wire connector at any marine Center. You don't have to rewire anything.
