Question

Boat Trailering Guys,

Recently replaced the axil on a Continental trailer for a 17' Whaler also replaced hubs and tires (15"). The tires are cupping after only 700 miles. What could be causing this?

I would go back and check the alignment of the axle. Even a slight offset to the axle can cause this type of tire wear. In addition, check your bearings and the tightness of the spindle nut. With the wheel off of the ground, grab the two side of the tire giving it a push and pull to make sure that the hub is seated firmly. Any play is an indication of bearing wear or a loose nut.
