Question

Boat Trailering Guys:,

I purchased a new 19' Sea Pro bay boat last year. It came with a Magic Tilt trailor but I believe it was not set right. I can not lower the engine to vertical when the boat is on the trailor. The dealer said there was nothing he could do when I complained. I do not talk with the dealer anymore, but I am hoping you could refer me to anyone in Fort Walton Beach, FL who knows how to rig a trailor correctly for the boat that is on it or provide some website I can refer to so I can do it myself if necessary. Thanks for any help you can provide. r, Kevin Greybill

The first thing that I would do is contact Sea Pro and Magic Tilt directly to discuss the matter and find out what their recommendations are. Perhaps they can "persuade" their dealer to make the proper adjustments or provide the proper trailer for the application. Without seeing the boat and trailer setup it is difficult for me to provide the solution. One thing to check is the adjustment on the bunk, or roller, brackets. The brackets should be slotted so that you can adjust the height of the supports. There may be some room left to loosen them and raise them to allow for the additional clearance for your motor. If that doesn't solve the problem and you don't get anywhere with the dealer you want to visit some local trailer dealers and shop for the proper fit. Your trailer is only a year old so there may be good trade-in value.
