Question
Boat Trailering Guys:,
I am looking to transport a 1984 Hunter 37 Cutter from Delray Beach, FL to Nashville, TN, Percy Priest Lake. I have no idea where to start. I am able to transport the boat via intercoastal to an appropriate facility but from that point the prep work, transportation, reassembly, return to the water would be expected. Advise please?

The most important thing to do in your case is find a reputable boat transport company. The carrier should have a boat preparation checklist that will specify each step in detail. When choosing a carrier you should check for proof of insurance and references prior to entering into any agreement. When asking for references ask for both customers whose boats that they have transported as well as marinas/yards that they have worked with. Once you have chosen a transport company, arrange for a meeting (or conference call) with the yard managers where the boat will be picked up from and where it will be delivered to, the boat transport driver (not an office representative) and yourself. By doing this all parties will be on the same page and you should not have any surprises on either end.
