High winds precipitated a chain of events that
sank this 37' sailboat. First, one of the boat's bow lines chaffed
through there were no chafe guards' and the bow swung around and
began bumping against a piling. The wind then blew much of the water
out of the harbor, which caused the keel to become stuck in the
mud and the stern to become wedged against a piling. When the displaced
water returned, the stuck boat stayed put on the bottom.
