ANNAPOLIS, Md. August 2, 2012 — Finding a life jacket loaner location will soon be even easier. The BoatUS Foundation is providing any organization with an established life jacket loaner program the chance to promote their loaner site on the Foundation’s interactive Life Jacket Loaner Program map. The Foundation’s map, viewed by thousands of boaters every day, is the only nationwide map to locate a life jacket loaner site.
“Our Life Jacket Loaner Program loans out life jackets over 140,000 times each year for the day or weekend, and at least three lives have been saved because of the program,” said BoatUS Foundation Outreach Manager Alanna Keating. “But we know there are hundreds of other sites around the country that are not part of the Foundation’s program. We can keep more people safe on the water by giving them the tools to access properly fitting life jackets wherever they are. No matter who is offering it – a local community group, government or business – we want to know about it so those in need can easily find a life jacket nearby.”
The BoatUS Foundation’s Life Jacket Loaner Program has 500 loaner locations in all 50 states and DC and is funded by donations from the half a million members of Boat Owners Association of The United States. To have your life jacket loaner program listed on the map, go to
