HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., April 6, 2018 – Want to learn the basics of powerboating or brush up on your skills? The nonprofit BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water together with Freedom Boat Club Huntington Beach offer an affordable and fun Intro to Boating course taught aboard 21-foot powerboats on Friday, April 20, and Saturday, April 21, at the club’s location at 16360 Pacific Coast Hwy #212.
Priced at $149 per person and starting at either 9 or 9:30 a.m., the three-hour Intro to Boating course covers shifting and steering, basic docking, open-water handling and basic navigation. Class size is limited to three students per vessel, ensuring each student gets sufficient time at the helm.
The goal of the BoatUS Foundation and Freedom Boat Club Huntington Beach courses are to address the high costs typically associated with at-the-helm training, making hands-on boating education more affordable. They also offer a chance to try out recreational boating or give boaters the opportunity to practice their skills under the helpful eyes of expert instructors before the summer boating season.
Space is limited. Must be 21 years or older. To sign up for a course, go to https://goo.gl/zuq1zA.
