BoatUS PRESENTS U.S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY FLOTILLA 10-13
WITH “BEST FLOTILLA IN THE NATION” AWARD
U.S. Coast
Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-13 of Wyckoff, NJ was presented with the
“Best Flotilla in the Nation” award by BoatUS at the Auxiliary’s
National Conference held recently in Nashville, TN.
Flotilla
10-13, of the First District, Southern Region, bested 17 other regional
nominees for the top honors. The award caps a process that evaluates
achievements in the areas of membership growth and training, operational
support of U.S. Coast Guard missions, vessel safety check activity,
public education, and community awareness of the Auxiliary’s role.
“When
the Auxiliary evaluated all the criteria, Flotilla 10-13 stood out amongst
its peers,” said Ruth Wood, presenter of the award and BoatUS
Foundation president. “Their level of participation in each area
was significantly higher than the next closest nominee – their
performance clearly raised the bar,” she continued.
The District
Commodore of Flotilla 10-13 during the evaluation period was William
Huling and the Flotilla Commander was Kenneth Hall.
