Boat Retailers Post Third Quarter Growths
Washington might still be failing to get its act together, but two of the largest marine retailers showed positive growth spurts on their recent earnings.
MarineMax announced revenue results for its third fiscal quarter of 2011 of $153.2 million compared with $115.4 million for the comparable quarter last year. Same-store sales increased approximately 33% compared with a 17% decrease for the comparable quarter last year.
Meanwhile, marine retailer giant West Marine showed income before taxes for the second fiscal quarter was $40.0 million, a $4 million, or 11%, increase compared to the same period last year.
