Jack grew up on the shores of the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York and
following college and military service began his career as an apprentice marine
surveyor and marine loss adjuster in 1971. Since, Jack has continually served
recreational boat owners, buyers, builders and insurers. He is a graduate of the
Westlawn Institute of Marine Technology with a diploma in Naval Architecture,
Marine Engineering and Small Craft Design. Jack is a member of the Society of
Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and the American Boat and Yacht Council.
He is a past Chairman of the Chesapeake Chapter of the Society of Boat &
Yacht Designers, an Accredited member of the Society of Accredited Marine
Surveyors, and Certified member of the National Association of Marine Surveyors.
In addition to his duties at Marine Survey & Design Co., Jack is the
Project Naval Architect for the restoration of the steam tug Baltimore currently
being restored by the Baltimore Industrial Museum and a contributing writer for
SpinSheet, Chesapeake Bay and Offshore magazines.
