What do you do at BoatUS Marine Insurance?

I have a few titles here, but my official title is Assistant Vice-President of Policy Management. Policy Management is the department that makes sure our policies get out to the policyholders. We endorse the policies and manage new policies, renewals, premium payments, etc.

I also maintain the corporate insurance policies and state filings, as well as agents and adjustors licensing. This part of my job also requires that I make sure we’re up to date on all new policies and regulations in the insurance industry.

How does your job impact our product or policyholders?

Underwriting is the first point of contact, but Policy Management manages the policies once they come on board.

How many years have you been with BoatUS?

14 Years, as of September 12th.

Do you own a boat? If so, what kind and where do you use it?

I don’t own a boat, but I have quite a few friends that do. Which isn’t bad…all the benefit with none of the cost!

Your favorite vacation spot?

I used to say the Islands…until I went to Europe. I’ve also recently fallen in love with San Diego, La Jolla in particular.

Tell us something that nobody knows about you.

I think people would be surprised to know that I can Hand Dance. On the job, people think of me as pretty buttoned-up. But when I’m out, I get on the dance floor and stay there all night long. I’m also a basketball nut, college basketball. When that time comes around, I’m worse than the guys.
