EPA Proposes a no discharge zone for Long Island Sound
The United States Environmental Protection Agency has proposed to designate the waters of Long Island Sound as a no discharge zone. This will prohibit the discharge of treated waste from Type I and II marine sanitation devices. The discharge of treated waste is already prohibited under the Clean Water Act.

Comments can be made to the EPA on this proposal until May 11, 2011.
