for a poster campaign to show the harm and hazards of improper waste
disposal on the Great Lakes watershed.
Buffalo
Aqua Club, Buffalo, New York. Funding for the "Boat
It Out, Boat It In" program that uses flyers, posters and nylon
bags with a message to encourage boaters and SCUBA divers to bring
trash back to shore.
Friends
of Casco Bay, South Portland, Maine. Funding for printing
2,500 brochures that promote the local Vessel Pump-Out Program and
educate the public about environmentally safe boating practices.
Hudson
Beach Yacht Club, Hudson, Florida. Funding for a children’s
"It’s Your Gulf, Keep It Clean" Poster Contest and
the printing and posting of winning posters at area boat launch
ramps.
Marine
Industries Association of South Florida, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Funding to print and distribute the brochure, "A Boater’s
Guide to Manatee Protection."
Orange
County CoastKeeper, Newport Beach, California. Funding
for the Boat Fuel Clean-Up Project on fuel docks in Huntington Harbour,
Newport Harbor and Dana Point.
Potomac
Conservancy, Arlington, Virginia. Funding for multi-lingual
brochures that promote low impact fishing practices in the area,
with particular emphasis on Asian and Latino communities.
U.S.
Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 04-08, Washington Island, Wisconsin.
Funding to develop the curriculum for a program that teaches children
at local schools about marine pollution.
