Seasonal or Temporary Employees

  • Employee Discount - Offered by our retail partner West Marine for the sale of boating related equipment and products. In addition to marine equipment, they carry a wide variety of items including clothing, books, and many gift items that appeal to our non-boating employees. Through our marketing alliance with West Marine, employee discounts are available to all employees typically within one month of service.

  • 401(k) Savings Plan - BoatUS is proud to offer a 401(k) savings Plan that comes with an incentive so appealing that it is hard not to take advantage of. As long as you are over 21 years of age you are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan in the month following your date of hire. The BoatUS 401(k) plan enables you to save towards retirement on a pre-tax basis. Additionally, for each dollar an eligible participant saves (the 2013 annual maximum is $17,500), the Company contributes a $1.00, up to 4% of bi-weekly salary. The Company match, which is deposited every pay-period, is fully vested from day one.

  • Vision Discount - all employees have a no-cost benefit of a $35 eye examination with discounts on glasses and lenses at participating eye care centers.

  • Employee Assistance Program – our EAP provides you free, confidential assistance in resolving problems that may affect your personal life or your job performance.

  • Free Parking – parking is provided for employees at all our locations.

  • Casual Work Environment – all our locations enjoy business casual attire. Our business casual dress code enables you to work in comfortable clothing while allowing us to maintain the professional image of our company.

Part Time Employees

  • Holidays – in celebration of the holidays you are paid four hours for each of the nine holidays the company recognizes. Because BoatUS is in a business that gets very busy during certain holiday periods, some holidays are celebrated on the day they occur while others are available on a floating basis

  • Annual Leave For Vacation – you will earn annual leave to use for some well-deserved time away from work! The amount of annual leave you earn is determined by the number of hours you work as well as the number of years of service you have with the company. The company encourages you to enjoy your paid time off to relax and unwind.

Full Time Employees

  • Medical Insurance – BoatUS has a commitment to the good health of you and your family. The Company provides you an excellent opportunity by paying the majority of highly valued and costly medical insurance coverage. The Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) gives participants enhanced medical benefits through a network of participating providers nationwide yet allows participants the choice of receiving medical treatment from independent physicians.
  • Employees in the Headquarters area, due to the larger number of employees, also have the opportunity to elect coverage in one of two HMO plans.

  • Dental Insurance – to keep your smile looking its best, BoatUS offers a great dental plan! If you elect this benefit, the company shares the cost with you.

  • Employees and their dependents are eligible for preventative, basic and major dental coverage. The Dental Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) gives participants enhanced dental benefits through a network of participating providers nationwide yet allows participants the choice of receiving treatment from independent dentists.

  • Voluntary Life Insurance – BoatUS helps provide life insurance coverage for you and your family by making group coverage available at affordable discount group rates:

        • Basic Term Life Insurance is available to you in the amount of $30,000 and with double indemnity for accidental death and a schedule for dismemberment benefits.
        • Discretionary Life Insurance is offered in the amounts from one time to up to seven times salary with a $500,000 maximum. Additional coverage is also available for your spouse and children.

    • Disability Insurance
      • Short Term Disability Insurance is offered and may be purchased to provide income security in case of an non job related accident or illness and pays you up to 60% of your earnings from day 15 of your absence for up to 90 days. Your Short Term Disability payments are reduced by any sick time paid.
      • Long Term Disability Insurance is provided at no cost to you after one year of full time service. Beginning after 90 days of absence in cases of accident or illness, this coverage enables you to receive benefits up to 60% of your monthly salary.

    • Employee Assistance Program – our EAP provides you, immediate family members and dependents free, confidential assistance in resolving problems that may affect your personal life or your job performance.

    • 401(k) Savings Plan – BoatUS is proud to offer a 401(k) savings Plan that comes with an incentive so appealing that it is hard not to take advantage of. As long as you are over 21 years of age you are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan in the month following your date of hire.     • Education Assistance – your continued education is valued and supported. Once you complete one year of service, you are eligible to receive 100% tuition reimbursement, up to $1200 per year, for job-related courses, provided a grade of "B" or better is received in an approved course from an accredited institution.
