Toms Tips On Dealing with Those Hostile to Your Boating
By Tom Neale, 6/26/2008
1. Most of the unreasonable unproductive environmental regulations and laws which adversely affect boaters start with people who are well intentioned but also misinformed.
2. In fact, usually boaters care more about the result sought than the people making the proposals. The issues arise with how we obtain the desired results.
3. Attempts at achieving desired results which are based on flawed understanding of the facts are seldom truly successful and often create more problems.
4. Whenever we see one or more groups trying to curtail our boating, usually the best thing to do is to try to get to know them, let them get to know us, and try to educate them, amicably, as to the facts.
