Caccia, Sardinia Our urban
chores completed, this morning we headed six miles west to the bay formed
by the Capo Caccia promontory. Surrounded by green hills and huge limestone
grottos in Porto Conte Bay, we are anchored in a lovely cala (cove) having
spent the day doing chores. We really enjoy the ability to alternate between
docking--which allows easy access to civilization--and then quickly getting
away to a lovely anchorage--where we can do what we need to do without
distractions.
Although, with
summer holidays in full swing (all Italians and French seem to be on vacation
from mid July to the end of August), we are distracted as we really enjoy
watching and listening to the crowds of Italian families, whether they
are strolling in the city or swimming, boating, and beaching in the bay.
The language is so musical and the movements which go with it so exuberant,
it doesn't matter that we do not understand what they are saying.
