Cartegena, Spain

We are back on board in Cartegena after having taken the train to Barcelona for a wonderful weekend of urban culture and excellent cuisine with good friends in a delightful city. What more could one want?

Cartegena is delightful also: a lovely old town with narrow walking streets, Roman ruins and a very pleasant feel. It is an ancient city founded by Hannibal's brother, Histrabul, in the 2nd century BCE and I am glad we did not miss it by sailing straight to the Balearics.
