If you must do it, (spring cleaning your boat) start in the winter. That way you’ll be able to get out on the water much earlier.
2. It feels good to mess around on the boat when you get a warmer weekend in the winter. It’s great therapy for winter blues.
3. Remember that, if you need help in fixing up your boat for the season, it’s a buyer’s market during winter and a seller’s market in the spring.
4. There are many cleaning products that are green. They are formulated to not be harmful to the environment and various companies are marketing them. For example, recently StarBrite announced its “Sea Safe” line which includes Boat Wash, Boat Wash & Wax, Hull Cleaner, Bilge Cleaner and Non-Skid Deck Cleaner.
