We have a 1985 3207 and enjoy the roominess of the boat. If your choice is between the 3007 and 3207, I would go the 3207 for the extra room, storage, aft head, better usefullness of the galley, greater room on the aft deck, and the general higher quality of finish. These are all things that will make a difference over time. I agree with all noted by carverdbm, but disagree regarding the ride. We cruse the big waters of Lake Michigan and actually enjoy the softness of the ride. There is a definite feeling the hull slices the waves. For as much get up and go this boat has, it's ride feels like a heavier boat to me. We also like the verticle design of the 3007, 3207, and 3607. It is nice not being below decks all the time as so many boats have you today. It gives you a lot of daylight in the salon and lots less potential discomfort when below underway. And the flybridge is nice and high. Whichever Carver you get, it is a good idea to re-do the bottom as soon as it is needed. Sandblasting to the fiberglass, fixing any blisters (we had only two smaller than my little fingernail), coating with epoxy and then anti-fowling. It is costly, but you know what you are sitting on and you will sleep better for sure.
We love our boat
