I am looking for any type of 1999 - 2002 340Da literature. Most desireably for the 2002 model year.

Manuals, brochures, etc.

Please IM me. Thanks !!

Alex - You may want to check out the sea ray site. Searay.com and look under the archive sections. Sea Ray has most of the literature avl for all their boat online in PDF format. Hope this helps.

Chuck

Alex,

Do you own or are you considering the 340?

I owned a 1996 330DA for a while, basically same boat, and very nicely thought out. We liked it a lot and had no problems whatsoever. But we eventually found it too small for Lake Michigan, and kind of stern heavy with the 454 inboards. I was much happier with an older but larger boat (1994 440DA). Even the 370/380 rides much better on bigger water.

Also, somewhere around 1995 Sea Ray started using balsa coring for the bottoms of some models, like the 450DA, but I'm not sure about the 330/340. Altho most have been fine, I would be very careful with an older boat if it had this since any water intrusion can be a disaster. Like avoid it altogether, or consider a bottom moisture meter check at yearly haul out maybe?

Doc, yes we bought a 340 in June. We had (still for sale!!) a 2004 Four Winns 248 Vista. A great boat all around, we just wanted to get a bigger one we can stay on for a week or so.

We looked at the 340 adn 380, but decided on the 340. Our lake is not that large, only 25000 acres and the 340 is quite a bit sportier with the 8.1 than the 380. I would not get gas engines on anything larger than the 340. It is true she's tail heavy for a dancer. We decided that when it will be time to move up we will probably look at a late 90s 500 dancer. We don't do the two-footitis.

Nice boat! Sounds perfect for what you are doing. I'm sure you'll love it.

Agree on the 2 footitis! There are a ton of 500DA's here and people love 'em, seem to do OK finding slips too, altho that can be tough as you go over 50 LOA on the Great Lakes. And the DDECS have a great reputation.

Congratulations on the new boat!

Doc.

Alex'
If you go to http://www.searay.com/archives.asp?tab=6
you can pull up any brochure and manual for just about any year!
I found my manual and brochure for my 1981 245 Sundancer, it was
pretty nostalgic to see the brochure from 25 years ago! Good Luck. I'm
selling and looking at a 1994 30' sundancer. BostonCM

I already got a 15'x40' covered slip and sticking out the front won't be to much of an issue in our marina since we are in a single row of covered slips with a huge fairway in front of it.

I think a 50 has a 15 1/2 foot beam?

Sounds really nice esp. for the 340, and maybe some toys!
