Not to many Thompson owners out here, but we should stay connected. I have a 1990 205 Carrara with a Merc 5.7. Nice boat to get back into the sport after moving from St. Louis to Michigan.

I'm looking for an owners manual if anyone has one.

I've been told Thompson never issued manuals with new boats.  I've been looking for one too.

Mine is a 1989 Daytona 270 with twin mercruisers.

I have a 1989 Thompson Daytona 300 - Twin 5.7, moored on the WEST coast just outside of Vancouver, BC.

We don't see many thompsons at all out west due to the original manufacturing on the east coast.

I have been extremely happy with our boat, especially the perfomarnce and acoomondations. It is not a s fancy as the other cruiser boats of its time, but we are slowly upgrading electronics, interior, and canvas - now one of the fastest, most efficient 30' "pocket cruiser" in the area.

I have found original catalogues / manuals for my boat, and I would like to keep in touch with other Thompson owners.

tfh---we found the same thing when test driving ours.

we were so impressed (after many other test drives of similar vessels) with the ease and short distance at which this boat climbed up on plane. and that was with the small blocks and alphas....

i have no idea what fuel use is on it. we had just purchased a navman chartplotter with the fuel analyzer but didn't get a chance to install before we pulled her out of the water. however, i always felt it was pretty fair.

Curious - what's the "doghouse"? Any chance of seeing pictures of the new full width rear deck?

the doghouse is the engine cover.

I tried to add an image, but no luck.

I went back and looked at a couple Carrara's then realized what the "doghouse" was.

Did you build the deck of plywood or fibreglass? A friend of ours built a fibreglass deck on his uniflyte flybridge that extended off the back. He loved it.

I used 2x3 and plywood.  It is actually a three piece unit.  the outer are enclosed boxes and the center is a removable front and a hinged top.  I used padding and marine vynal on the front kick panels and carpet on the top.  I am looking at having a pad made.

Still have those seats from the back?

I've just purchased a "project" 88 245 Carrera.  Prev owner was hard core fishing.  completely removed rear seats.  I have a bigger boat, but the kids want to tube (and fish), so we are investing in this one as our "toy boat"...but it will need some work.  Prev owner was more interested in chasing fish than pulling PM or cleaning...  Time will tell weather this is a diamond in the rough or just a bad decision...

Let me know if you still have those seats, and maybe a pic?
