Hey Jim (HHIII)
Great Photos!
We did the Julington Creek parade last night. I have to
admit it was odd seeing another Catalina with Christmas
lights on it that wasn't ours!
http://photos.jacksonville.com/mycapture/folder.asp?
event=1373115&CategoryID=10519&ListSubAlbums=1
We had a great time too. The people along the creek go
nuts decorating and they have big yard parties where they
have bonfires and shoot off an insane amount of fireworks.
We won't miss it again next year!
Jim

Quote: floater251 FL Jim, I facebook'd John G about it
after the show
thinking the same thing about the windshield, was
told it's ok to get on the glass but to keep a hose
handy to keep it from sitting on it to long. I was
pretty impressed with the results on the show, I'd
like to do it on my window frames and rails...
Some day....
Winterized the #2 yesterday, was going through
some boxes of stuff inside and found there to be
what appears to be an enclosure of some kind. Not
sure what all it covers but looks like side curtains
that zip to the top with a flap that goes just to the
rear of the seats. The isinglass is in bad shape but the
cloth and zippers are still good. Next spring I will see
how it goes together. I did bring the table home to
make a pattern for my winter project.
Floater.
Floater,
Did you see the episode where they used Flitz to clean the
isenglass?
I would love to have a table like yours, but I don't think I
have the wooworking skills any more. I would like to know
what the process is like? (Removing the trim, cutting the
new one, replacing the trim.
I was at a place called Sailor's Exchnage in St Augustine
and picked up some plywood out of a parted out boat that
looks like this:
http://img.archiexpo.com/images_ae/photo-m2/wooden-
laminated-panel-marine-plywood-for-floors-270581.jpg
I may just use that... unless you'd like to make 2 tables? to
help pay for the first? :)

Hey, Gang. JimHH, Bonnie and I and a bunch of friends were watching the parade from the bow of Fish Hawk, docked directley across from the dredge. And yes, we saw that pontoon boat in front of you run into the dredge pipe TWICE!!. HHIII looked great, wished you came closer to hear our applause! Nite, y'all, Capt. H.

The Christmas boat parade looks kind of cool. Great pics! If we did that in the north country we would have to pull them around on trailers.
Anyone used Flitz on thier eisenglass? If so what is best way?
Capt H, first ice is about here, will have to get some hard water pics up this year. Here are few from years past. Note the built in beer cooler and you always stir the chili with an ice scraper.

Jim, they actually have a parade in the PAtchogue River every year on the Saturday night before Thanksgiving. I have left the My Way in the water and we hung out on the boat to watch but never participated in it. Fun stuff... My folks have one that goes through several canals over in Cape Coral, they've had quite big parties at their house for the parade in past years, they are right on the water, on one of the main canals the parade goes through.
I'll get another boat soon, gonna take a break for a season or two. Not sure If I want another Catalina (unless the exact right one presents itself at the right time) or I may go with a center console whaler on a trailer. We do a lot of vacationing in and around Maine and New Hampshire so a trailer boat would be most ideal. Would save $ on boat rentals. ....someday

Hello All. Dewey, glad you are up and about. Hope all is well. Miss the ol' stripped bass (rock fish). Don't catch them this far south, but they were the fish of choice when we kept Mystic Diver in Rock Hall, Md.
JimHH, Did you win this year?? Inquiring minds want to know!!. Give Sunshine our best. Capt H. and Bonnie.

I hear you Tom . The weather down here has not been the best boating weather. Last time I used the boat was in the boat parade on the 3rd. I need to get there and check so battery issues out . Also need to replace a few west marine 12 volt outlets that failed. The backs push right out of them. I am not happy with that . I hpope Sunday will be nice to take her out we will see.
Capt Steve sent me a link to some amazing pictures of our inlet last week .(Thanks Cap)
Check this out http://inletpics.com/20111203hl.html
I hope you guys are also posting on this site too. I dont get an emails from the other site when someone posts .

Hey all,
I'm getting ready to do my 3rd light parade this year this
weekend. I figured I went to the trouble to decorate her, I
might as well get all the use I can out of the decorations.

but like Rick said...there is a buyer for everything. if the boat is unique in that it is showroom new, not a scratch, modern power, perfect cabin, teak, brightwork, etc. there may be someone crazy enough to spend it. hell...if I hit the lotto and wanted a perfect CC Catalina I would consider it (or I would just buy one of Suwaneered (Bill's) restored CC's). my dad sold one of his corvettes, the 1998, it was showroom new, not a scratch inside or out, only ~7000, never saw rain and kept in pristine condition, he got almost twice book value because the buyer wanted that exact car and was willing to pay a premium for one that was mint...for him it was like buying a NOS from Chevy.
<= wow! closing in on 1k posts!
