Just starting a discussion.  "Travis McGee" is a 1987 46' Jefferson sundeck model.  Twin 3208 Cats, 8kw Westerbeke, Freedom 30 inverter.  Hailing port is Grand Rivers, KY; currently homeported in Gallatin [Nashville area], TN.

We use her all year round, overnighting at anchor on most weeknds in cool/warm/hot weather.  We average about 150 hours a year on the engines - currently about 1450 hours.  Inverter has cut generator use considerably, except for times that we use the AC.  We do not winterize, and use the boat year round.  Boatsafe bilge heaters on in the winter months.

Like you, just getting started with the forum. We also have a 1987 46 footer, but a cockpit version. Home port is Jekyll Island GA.

We don't winterize either, and use the boat year round. There are usually plenty of sunny days to go out cruising even in the dead of winter.

Hello fellas.

Well how 'bout that... I too am the happy owner of a 46 Jefferson and mine is the cockpit version as well. She is a 1986 model with 3208T's and a Northern Lights 8kw genset..We keep her in commission year round come hell (tempest, blizzard, tornado) or the regular high water we get on the Ohio here at Louisville. There are quite a few Jeff 42's around. but Im pretty sure I have the only local 46 CMY.  She is the former "Just Buzzin'" renamed "Simpatica II"

There really hasnt been a forum for us till now. It will be great to compare notes and discuss issues with other Jefferson owners.

Stay safe...

Bert
