Hi Terri,
Don't know whether you check this site any more.
I had a 1974 Egg Harbor 33' Sport Fisherman way back in the early 80s. I've had 28 boats so far not including dinghies and other small stuff and my 33 Egg was one of my favorites. I'd show you a picture of her if I could. Sometimes I think I'd like to find her, put a couple of small (250 hp) diesels in her and restore her to like new condition. There's one restored 33 Egg for sale now for $199K. Wan't to buy her for old times sake? There are still plenty of 33 Eggs around. I found 52 on Yachtworld ranging from $10K to $199K. I also had a 30' wooden Pacemaker which looked a lot like the second picture you show above. But most of the old wooden Eggs have disintegrated to piles of dry rot with the exception of the old classic 37' Egg Harbors which are now classic boats. You are right, I couldn't find a single 31' Egg Harbor on YachtWorld. I often wonder where the bones of my old Pacemaker are lying now.
But I'm now a Chris Craft owner and Pete37 from the Murray Chris Craft Constellation 500 site the most successful site of all the Manufacturer Forums. We've had 310 posts so far and over 13,000 viewings. This is probably due to the fact that I had adresses for all the Constellation 500 owners and sent them letters to alert them to the fact that the forum existed. We're working on setting up our first rendezvous.
So far about 70 owners have been contacted and I expect to contact another 70 as the 460 and 501 models are added to our discussion group. Uniflite 460s and Pacemaker 460s are kissing cousins to the Constellations (I call them Connies) because they were made using the same molds and designs from Jack Martin. As soon as I get time I will bring them in too. Altogether about 170 boats are involved which should make an active forum when completed.
I have just finished looking around at the other forums and sites and find that most are not very active. This is probably because no one knows that the sites exist. I was a broker for a while and knew how to get the addresses of all the Connie owners. The same thing could and should be done for all the other boat manufacturers in order to make the Manufacturer Forums a big success.
Our biggest problem now is that the picture upload feature broke down a few months ago so none of the owners can show pictures of their pride and joy or their latest projects.
Hope that you are still checking this site occasionally and will respond. Drop a post to me on the Murray Chris Craft Constellation 500 site.
