I tell you what, as bad as that seat looked, there wasn't any danger of it coming apart! Deb and I worked our asses off to take that thing apart. I wanted to save all the pieces to use for templates to make the new stuff.

Now ain't this a b!tch! I had some left over starboard from the sundeck, and it's about two inches short of being able to make some of the parts from it.

I'm actually getting something done today. I've cut the pieces for the rear seat base. I sent Debbie to Lowes to pick up a pneumatic stapler, and I'll be ready to put the base back together. Instead of going back to Orlando and spend another $134 for another sheet of starboard, I've decided to make the base from pressure treated plywood, then cover it with fiberglass resin, and paint it.

Hey Cuda,

Can you fasten that fabric to the starboard with stainless or monel staples? 

Have you found a good way to join two pieces of Starboard to form a 90 degree corner, with some structural integrity?

Do you know of an adhesive or epoxy (like the West System) that will adhere to the Starboard?

Thanks, I just wanted to know if a staple gun could stick them in the Starboard, and if they would stay.

What about structural... have you ever tried to build something out of it?

BTW... Your boat sounds baaaad!  I'd swear I could see the boat torqueing over :-)
