Great group eveyone.  I have enjoyed reading all the posts.

I have owned Formulas in the past and love them.  My first was a 91 242 SS then I traded up to a 97 382 Fasttech, what a boat that was.  After being boatless for the past few years I'm turning back the clocks and restoring a 1972 233.

I need an upclose photo of the Formula lettering on the 72 or similar years so my graphics guy can cut some vinyl for me.  If one of you could snap a photo for me and post it here or email it to beachgeeks@yahoo.com I would greatly appreiciate it.

Thanks in advance and let's keep this forum alive!!!

Welcome on!   Glad you've come by and thanks for getting through our posts to catch up.  BoatUS has really been great to us here...

Can you tell us if on the Vintage Formula, section at the Formula (OEM) site, if you see a model year that has what you're looking for?

I understand that many people that had a 242 and sold it would sure like to have it back again later....

What power are you going with on the restoration?

What I'm looking for is the script "Formula" on the rear of the '72 like on "Oh Kay" just need a closer picture of it.  Heres a link:

The Formula OEM site doesn't have the brochure from 1972 only the Signa brouchure which doesn't have the 233 that I could find.

The 242 was very nice and I can't wait to get the 233 in the water.  My 233 was repowered sometime in the mid 90's with a 351.  It starts and sounds great but I haven't had a chance to run the boat yet as I'm going through the drive replacing u-joints, bellows, the waterpump, etc before putting her in the water.  Once the drive is back on I'll find out what else I need.  If I have to repower the 350 Mag MPI is very tempting but at $9000 +/- it's probably not a realistic option.
