I just finished the rear seat for the 302, now I just need to install it.

Looks nice Cuda,
Is the FORMULA emblem embroidered into the seat fabric or is it cut from vinyl and stitched in? I started my own cockpit project last winter with new carpet, some mahogany trim and new coaming. But I didn't have time to get to the rest so I will be working on the seats and motor box this off season.

It's embroidered. I had the Bird emblem made from vinyl for the sundpad.

I played hooky from work today to put the seat in and go for a test run. They were calling for a sunny day. Raining now, and it looks like it won't quit soon.

Cuda,
The seat looks very cool. I have been thinking about changing out the engine box on my 72 F233 to a bench seat/sunpad. Please tell me more about how you constructed your seat and who you used for the upholstery work.
Perhaps we will run into each other out on the water sometime.
Thanks in advance.

I used the old seat parts for a template, traced them on the starboard and cut them. The upholsterer was a local guy here in Deland.
I also have an 81 F20 I'm working on. It only had a motor box instead of a sundeck. I'm wanting to build a sundeck, but I'm getting lazy and may just rebuild the motorbox. I did trace out another set of back seat parts, and have them cut to build another seat. The one in my 302 would fit my F20 perfectly.

Here's what I have in the F20, don't mind the mess, it's been sitting for almost three years.
This is where the "dog box" engine cover was. At the very back was a small storage area that flipped up that the bimini would slide back and store in.

Looking forward

I did finally get enough help around here to lift the rear seat in. I was disapointed to see that the same upholsterer used a different white than he did on my sundeck.

I may end up using that set of cushions on the F20, then match the white for the sunpad to the seats. I'll probably have another set of cushions made for the 302. I think I'll go with more yellow in the next set. This set just looks kind of generic to me, even with the embroidery. I'm also going to use a thicker foam, especially on the bottom.

Hey!
I think it's outstanding!
Did you see the thread about the 27.1 I was asking about last week?
