Hey all, I am new to this site - and just got a 78 233 cuddy, love the boat but I want to make it sweet...Does any one know where to obtain original or after market hardware. Also does anyone know "ball park" what a goo paint job would run...Thanks, Joel - from Miami.

Freedive,

Welcome on!!!  I'll be flying to Miami myself on the way to Largo in mid-December.

Be surte to look through our history of contributions for who has what and has done what.

Can you give engine specs and a specific hardware list?  Do you have any history available for that unit?

If it's bimini tops you need, you might ask Cuda for where to get one. He'll probably proivide an entertaining answer but he's more up on how to reupholster and provide good engine, restoration and trailer info among other things.  (He's the man on

If it's stuff like horns or other chrome stuff, compass or electronics, put together a list and we'll see what can be done for info...

Welcome on again and post often.

If you are thinking about a hard top, check this on the Albemarle forum:
http://www.albemarleboatowners.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=50 4

The Formula 233 and Albe 24 are said to be the same hull.  Not sure if the hard top would fit as well, but worth checking into.

A hard top on a cuddy?

Are we sure that's of use?

acutaly bidding on ebay now on a hard top for my 72 20 footer formula, its being resored finaly, and thinking of adding on a hard fiberglass top, unfortanly its not a cudy but a storage area under the bow, but will get it ship shape here in the next few months, does anyone know what exactly was above the forumla bird on the older boats as far as a badge goes ? if so and anyone has extra's of them please let me know.

Well, you need not ask any further.....

My hardtop was THE SINGLE-BEST improvement I have made to her......that said, this applies if you plan on doing a lot of fishing.

I had THE BEST/most comfortabel season this year (1st year with the top).

Nice to be out 70 miles in 25kt winds, trolling 7 knts quartering the seas, and have the spray and wave tips rolling right over you while you watch your rods from under the top in a t-shirt eating a "samwich" .....of course when reeling in the Tunas, you don't care about the spray hehehe...the top blocks a lot of spray even if you're outside of it.

I gotcha now about what a hard top is... I was thinking about something else.

I should have realized that what Finatage has is called a hard top and is, most certainly, of use.
