I just bought a 79 F233 with twin inline 4's, I am really excited about this boat and need lots of tech information on fixing it up properly. Hope to find some experienced boat mechanics! Thanks, Roy

Welcome on 79f!
Be sure to look through the other Formula related threads for info & see the other members with your configuration (I think there's at least one).
I's been awhile since I was on this board due to winter, work & other priorities but the season is upon us & it's time to get this thread active again.
Welcome on again & be sure to take you rtime & look through it all! The links to other places us bird owners flock to are also good.

I'm having good luck with my boat. I am upgrading the electrical system to make it more reliable. My 7 year old son likes to take the helm once we're underway. It is a good waterski boat and will be taking our first trip out into the Pacific Ocean across the bar at Astoria within a couple of weeks. Hope to troll for salmon then. Cutting down to only one engine for fishing, the boat is very economical. Running two it makes enough power for skiing. GPS speed fully loaded with gas, family and equipment 33 knots. Limited speed by too high of RPM on 15 Pitch prop, will change to gain more speed.

For Sale:
1979 Formula F233. 454 cid with TRS outdrive & Mirage prop. A Don Aronow classic.
Repowered in 1996-97 and converted to fresh water cooling. Updated original red gelcoat sides with red Imron paint. Ran very well when placed in storage 11/2003. Galvanized trailer (1980 Dilly) is only good enough for storage, launch, retrieval, and short trips.
Very clean consideriding it was my "daily driver" for 19 years and kept in the water for summers. Has bottom paint - Micron shark white. Now needs regularly scheduled maintenance: tune-up, exhaust manifolds, u-joint lube.
$6,000 Annapolis, MD area.

For sale:
1977 Formula Thunderbird 233. $1,000
Needs a portion of the transom, four aft stringers from the rear of the fuel tank to the transom (about 3' in length), and the floor replaced. All stringers from engine compartment forward are in excellent condition with no signs of rot. I have already removed the floor, inner transom skin, and old flotation foam. The hard work is done!
The boat is bright yellow with black stripe and spent its entire life in Lake Sebago, Maine. The rest of the boat is in excellent freshwater condition with an original unpainted gelcoat bottom. No blistering or significant fading. Includes canvas top with curtains, mooring cover, swim paltform, trim tabs, and original Roadrunner 2 axle trailer. Does not include engine or drive. I can email pictures if interested.
$1,000 firm. Located near Buckport, Maine.
