i'm the proud owner of an '83 233 LS. it came with a 17 pitch prop and i'm running a merc 260. i'm at 35mph at w.o.t. seems aweful slow for this boat. any suggestions? and how can i get myself some thru hulls? i need some exhaust rumble

Hey tbird!  Welcome on.

I think I run a 22pitch but my speed is about what you've observed at just les than 5K rpm, WOT.  I have the same 260 horse unit.

Our hulls are capable of lots of speed but they're heavy.  If you look through (way back) in the Formula thread I started a couple of years ago, you'll see where a few people were hoping for & probably achieving 60mph through some serious massaging & engine replacing.

They might be able to be contacted still.
