I have purchased a 2008 Doral 45 and for the life of me I cannot find the "Y-Valve" to allow me to empty the waste tank via the macerator when I am at sea? Any ideas of the location of this ellusive valve and any other tips on emptying the 2 waste tanks would be welcome. I know the fresh water fill valve is the wrong way around!

Help !!!!!

Mick,

I have an 08 Intrigue and my manual has drawings of all the 2008 cruisers.

From the drawing, it looks like your y valve would be aft of your batteries and probably mounted very low.

The drawing shows six batteries mounted between the engines.  I think you should see a White 2" diameter hose leading to the Y valve and Macerator.

The drawings also show that your waste tanks are mounted just forward of your fuel tanks.  If you can find the waste tank on the starboard side, locate the white hose and follow it back towards the middle of the ship.

Thanks for your assistance. I also have a full set of manuals that reflect exactly what you have indicated. Unfortunately none of the information is correct. Even worse by indicating 2 seperate waste tanks and 2 seperate macerators makes the challenge even worse.

The answer which was painstakingly obtained by my son and I is as follows:- Even though the tank display shows No.1 Tank FULL, there are NOT 2 waste tanks on the boat but a single system. The Y Valve is located under the floor just below the cabin steps, as is the single Macerator! ALL the plumbing indicates the single Vacuum toilet (2 shown on drawings) services both toilets (unusual). And on it goes.

Hope this information helps somebody else oneday as it was difficult to find. Next challenge is to fix the hydraulic platform on the stern. i love boating....

That's funny, my macerator is below my cabin steps too.  I was going to mention this when I first saw your post, but I never thought your 45 footer and my 31 footer would have the macerator in the same location.

Good luck with the swim platform as well.  I would start with the small stuff on that one.  Fuses first, then switch, hydralic fluid full?, and so on.
