Gemba - if you have the typical galley down 501, it has virtually the same galley as the 500. The blower is located next to the refrigerator. You have to pull the frige to get to it. It is easily replaceable and can be purchased from McMaster-Carr or similar vendor. Usually, these brackets rust away and the motor becomes fouled and/or corroded and simply quits. I find it odd that you can turn on the breaker and it doesn't trip. But the only way to fully determine the condition is on of two ways; if you have room, crawl over the pumps and junk on the starboard side of the generator room and shine a flashlight up in the blower opening to see how badly the mounting brackets are rusted. If you are lean and mean you can reach up in there and give it a "shake" and maybe see if the motor turns. The other way is to simply replace. I would imagine at this age of your boat it is ready for replacment. I replaced mine in an afternoon. Good luck!
