Anyone know where I might find a connector for the washdown on a 501 seems mine is missing.

Gemba - are you talking about a simple hosebib type quick disconnect?  Those are available from any hardware store; HD, Lowes, True Value, etc.  I think WM carries them as well.   I use the plastic types, they don't mar the gel coat if you drop the hose end on the gel coat surface.  However, they don't last as long as the brass ones do, but you can pick up a second set for what one set of brass ones cost.

Was this helpful?  Or were you asking a question other than how I understood this one?

Emory

Hi Emory
Thanks for the info the deck fitting is male and appears to be something special almost like a hydrolic fitting.  I am not at the boat and didn't get the name of manufacture.   Scott

Gemba - I am not being condesending, but are you sure you are looking at a "washdown" bib??  Remember, some of the Connies (460/500/501) came with an on-deck oil exchange system which could account for the hydraulic apearance.

If it is a washdown, it should be mounted near the forepeak and near the anchor.  These were usually placed there to wash down the anchor & chain rode.

Now if you have determined that it is truly the washdown, possibly someone has attached a quick-connect fitting of some sort which will no longer work with the ones normally found today.

Regardless, if it is a washdown bib it should have a garden hose threaded nozzle.  If not, then someone has modified it.  The water line that runs to this bib is located in the anchor locker and is fairly easy to get to should you have to install a new hose bib.  I put one on mine several years ago and no matter how much wax I have applied, it has still pitted.  I wonder if they make a brushed stainless steel bib?  I may have to google that!
