I have a 2002 310. The door is hard to slide. I have cleaned and tried WD40 on the slides, top and bottom, but that only works toemporarily and it also makes a black substance on the bottom slide and if someone steps on it the black marks go wherever. It looks like a major job to get that door removed to be able to put new slides or whatever to make it open easier. Does anybody have any suggestions

Looking forward to an answer to this one. I have used silicon spray with same results.

actually slides on the 250SE came out easily without removing the door. cleaned them good and WD40 did the job. it slides just fine. a quick spray every month or so keeps it sliding every time.
To remove the slides, just move the door back and forth, undo the screws and use on hand to lift the door weight of the slide. then use the other hand to slowly remove the slide by.... sliding it out of place. they are plastic and will bend a bit if needed.
reverse procedure to finish....

Thanks for the post Bannister. I'll take a look at that and see if my slides will come out.
