Hi, adiver2b
I have not replaced my fuel tanks but I have removed them from the boat . My tanks were starting to corrode and pit I sand blasted and used an aluminum based putty to coat the bottom half of the tank, then I coated the tanks with an epoxy coating. I have not reinstalled the tanks yet but I will soon. I am in the middle of a complete refit of the boat. I hope to have the boat in the water next season. I had thought of replacing the tanks. My tanks are 100 gal. I looked into plastic tanks but you have to be carefull with the larger tanks because they need to be baffled. I did find replacement aluminum tanks ,they were around 700 to 900 dollars apiece so I went for repair rather than replace my tanks were pretty solid and had no leaks.
I hope this helps
