I've been looking at a Harbor Master 52' Coastal (not the WB), and can't find much info either. According to an article from Power & Motor Yacht magazine from Sept., 2001, they made 100 of the 52' Coastal between 1986 and 2001. That averages only one or two a year, depending. Hmmmm. They also made the Coastal in 40 footer. Info is pretty skimpy, but apparently, Harbor Master was owned by E M G Inc., located in Gallatin, TN, but no more info there. I found a website, but it was dated 1994. I called the phone number anyway, and of course, no connection. Is Harbor Master still owned by E M G? Did they sell out, or did they go belly up? I've did find HB Coastal for sale on the Web as young as 2009, but that was a custom build. Saw a number 2008's, 2005's and 2001's, but no company info. Who is building these late models??? Did they sell the plans and molds to someone? Interestingly, 'All About Houseboats' magazine had an article about Harbor Master as a current builder, but that was a dead end too.
And to add to the confusion around Harbor Master boat/houseboat manufacturing, from what I have learned on the web, Stolkraft (Australia) licensed Harbor Master to use their patented ti-hull/to/catamarn hull-form to produce the Stolkraft 45' coastal cruiser. Layout is similar to the older Carve Mariner (pre 1996 with the interior on one level), but with a beam of 16'+!!!
